Lakes Region Visiting Nurse Association (“LRVNA”) is notifying individuals of a data security incident that may have impacted their personal information. LRVNA takes the privacy and security of all information seriously and apologizes for any concern or inconvenience this incident may cause.
What Happened?
On June 2, 2026, LRVNA identified suspicious activity within its email environment. LRVNA immediately implemented its incident response protocols and engaged external cybersecurity experts to conduct an investigation to determine what occurred and whether any data may have been impacted. On June 2, 2026, this investigation determined that an unauthorized individual gained access to one (1) LRVNA email account and accessed emails that potentially contained personal information. LRVNA conducted a review of these emails to determine what data was impacted by this incident and to whom it belonged. This review was completed on August 13, 2026.
What is LRVNA Doing?
LRVNA has taken steps to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future. Since the incident, LRVNA changed email passwords, and ensured multi-factor authentication is implemented throughout the email tenant, among other measures. LRVNA has no evidence that any personal information potentially impacted by this incident has been misused and LRVNA is posting this notice out of an abundance of caution.
Letters were mailed to potentially impacted individuals for whom LRVNA had addresses for. These letters contain more information about the incident, complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services, and steps individuals can take to protect themselves.
What You Can Do:
Individuals should review credit reports, bank account and other financial statements, and immediately contact their financial institution if they identify suspicious activity. LRVNA encourages you to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft by reviewing bank accounts, explanations of benefits (EOBs), and other financial statements.
