LRVNA Safe Place Grief Group – Bereavement Support Group 6 weeks (Companioning module based)

This group provides a safe, peaceful, supportive environment for exploring grief and is open to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one. This grief support group is a safe space for participants to do the hard work of mourning and follows the “companioning” model of Dr. Alan Wolfelt. This means being present to another’s pain and “walking alongside,” not fixing or directing. The goal is to support people through the acceptance of their loss so that they can find hope, meaning, and purpose. This work is not easy, but it is easier with the compassion and support of those who understand the depth of your unique journey through grief.
